ansiedad

Cuando una persona se pone ansiosa ocurre una serie de cambios en estos tres niveles de respuesta:

– A nivel fisiológico, y quizás sea  esto lo que más te molesta y más notas, puedes sentir cosas como: taquicardia, dificultades para respirar, calor, sofoco, dolor en el estómago, temblores en los músculos, etc.

– A nivel congnitivo, sueles pensar que algo muy desagradable, incluso terrorífico, va a ocurrir: que se rían de tí, que se hunda el ascensor, que tengas un accidente, que te dewsmayes, que tengas un ataque cardíaco…

– A nivel motor, lo más habitual es que evites o escapes de las situaciones que te producen este malestar.

Un poco de anatomía….

Todo empieza con uan orden de tu cerebro. Cuando alguien percibe una situación cmoo amenazante, y la juzga como tal (“algo malo va a pasar”), el cerebro envía una orden al sistema nervioso autónomo, y éste se pone en marcha haciendo que notemos todas esas sensaciones que llamamos Respuesta fisiológica, y que tú, seguramente, llamarás “nerviosismo” o miedo.

El SISTEMA NERVIOSO AUTÓNOMO (S.N.A.) se encuentra fundamentalmente en la médula espinal y tiene la misión de regular las funciones vitales (funcionamiento del corazón, respiración, sistema gastro-intestinal…).

Algunas personas hablan de “estar malo de los nervios” creyendo que cuando alguien está ansioso es porque los nervios se inflaman o irritan. ESTO ES ABSOLUTAMENTE FALSO. El malestar fisiológico se debe a que el S.N.A. está funcionando a un nivel muy acelerado. Es como un motos subido de “revoluciones”.

Pero no debes asustarte. NO es peligroso. La ansiedad en sí no mala. De hecho, la ansiedad tiene un papel adaptativo y de superviviencia para la especie humana, ya que, bajo control, nos ayuda a enfrentarnos a situaciones difíciles.

La persona que tieen un problema de ansiedad no es rara, no sufre algo extraño a las demás personas, la ansiedad no es diferente en él que en los demás. Lo que ocurre es que o dispara las respuestas de ansiedad con más frecuencia o con más intensidad.
